Faculty Advising

Academic advising stimulates students to form collaborative relationships with advisers and to achieve educational and individual goals through utilization of university, community and other resources. The advisement involves an adviser helping a student: To understand the nature and purpose of graduate education.

  • To clarify personal values and goals so as to maximize potential.
  • To plan an educational program consistent with interests and abilities.
  • To acquire accurate information about educational options, requirements, policies and procedures.
  • To monitor and evaluate educational progress.

Students should meet with their academic adviser to confirm their degree plan, to obtain academic assistance as needed as they progress in their program, and near the completion of their degree to prepare for their comprehensive exam or capstone course. The following table provides information regarding your academic adviser. To contact your adviser for an appointment, you may email or call as specified. Please note that specific assignments are for administrative purposes.
