A native of Rowley, Massachusetts, Ed enlisted in the Navy in Feb 1970 and advanced through the enlisted ranks retiring after 30 years in Feb 2000 as a Master Chief Hospital Corpsman (Submarines).
Master Chief Potts served tours with the Navy and Marine Corps through his career. During his tour in Cairo Egypt he was the Command Master Chief for the Naval medical Research Unit #3 and was a member of the Board of Directors for Cairo American College an international school for grades Pre School through High School. He finished his Navy career as Senior Instructor at Hospital Corpsman “A” School in Great Lakes IL
After retiring from the Navy, he taught middle school for 2 years before becoming the Director of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society’s Office in Bethesda MD and recently retired for a second time.
Ed has a Bachelor of Science Degree (Sociology) from the University of the State of New York, and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Troy University.
He and his bride of 36 years, Yvonne Potts reside between Hampton, Virginia and Gainesboro, TN when they are not traveling in their motor home. Ed has two grown children, Kelleigh a Special Education Teacher and Bob an Electrician. |
