Master of Science in Human Resource Management
Program Description

The Master of Science in Human Resource Management (MSHRM) is a specialized professional program designed to offer the student an opportunity to obtain proficiency in contemporary human resource management concepts, activities, and skills, particularly as they are applied to developing and executing human resource management systems in support of strategic organizational objectives. The MSHRM program combines the academic rigors of a master's degree with the practical skills needed to succeed in human resource management. Students will gain a strong theoretical foundation in the field while learning to apply practical application of theoretical concepts in the workplace.

It is a 10-course, 30 semester-hour degree program that can be completed in class or online in as little as 12 months unless foundation courses are required (see Prerequisite Requirements).

TROY’s MSHRM is often chosen by:

  • Students desiring a business-oriented HRM program
  • HR practitioners who seek roles with of greater managerial responsibility or income potential
  • Those seeking to transition into the HR management field
  • Business owners who wish to improve management bench strength, employee retention, or develop their HRM infrastructure.

This degree is for students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and want to earn an advanced degree to further their business career.

TROY’s business programs are accredited by ACBSP.  Also, the MSHRM program has been recognized as fully aligning with the Society for Human Resource Management’s recommended guidelines for HR education.
