Directions to Fort Monroe
Fort Monroe is located on the Peninsula side of the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel. From I-64 East or West, take the Fort Monroe, Phoebus exit. Turn left onto Mallory and go past Hardee’s and McDonald’s. At the stoplight, turn right onto Mellon. Follow Mellon to the entrance. Civilians: Follow directional signs for cars without decals. Those with DoD stickers, enter to the left of the guardhouse.
Fort Monroe is also accessible from Mercury Blvd.
The Education Center is in Building 82, 2nd floor of the Health Clinic building. Follow the blue H (for Hospital/Health Clinic) signs, making a LEFT on Patch and then a RIGHT on Hatch. The parking lot and building 82 will be in front of you. Doors to the Health Clinic will be locked at 5 PM. Students should enter through the loading dock door on the left side of the building. Take the staircase to 2nd floor. Take the 1st hallway to the left and Room 257 is 1st classroom on the left.
Instructions for Civilian Students
On Fort Monroe
Fort Monroe requires a Department of Defense (DOD) car decal to get on post. Those without a DOD decal will have to stop at the gate each week for a one day pass. Please follow directional signs for cars without decals.
Be prepared to show the following to obtain a pass:
· A valid Driver’s license
· Vehicle registration in your name (or relative with the same last name)
· License Tag number
· Proof of Insurance
Students will be asked where they are going. The Education Center is Building 82. Your car can not be anywhere else on the post.
Remember, you and your car are subject to search upon entry. No term pass will be issued. Civilians will have to observe the above each week.
